Children's Religious Education

Welcome!

Welcome to the Children's Program at the First Unitarian Church of Victoria.
Our program is part of a life-long continuum of religious education offered at our church. We seek to nurture the spirit of everyone through exploration not indoctrination. We celebrate diversity in all its forms — in beliefs, in customs, in race and culture. We offer a liberal religious education within a safe and supportive environment.

Our children know that they are valued as individuals and that they belong to a caring community. From this base, they are free to explore some of life's puzzling questions and to develop their own faith. They are encouraged to keep on learning, to discover what is sacred to them and to develop their own religious views.

We provide a place to belong, to form supportive friendships, and to grow spiritually developing inner peace and strength. Children learn about the world around us and the importance of being good stewards of our resources. They are given opportunities to participate in social action to make a difference in the world. Their religious experiences are not limited by our programs - home, school and the whole of the church community are the arenas to continue their lifelong exploration.
