The First Unitarian Church of Victoria Foundation was established to promote the principles and values of our Church. Currently the Foundation has contributions invested with the Victoria Foundation totaling approximately $55,000. Income from these funds is dedicated to supporting First Nations education at Camosen College, the music programme and social responsibility programmes of the Church.
Judy Gaylord, on behalf of the FUCV Foundation, presented two $500 bursaries to each of First Nations students, Brenda Wainwright and Frezine Lafortune in the spring of 2009. Frezine is completing her Early Childhood Education course and is from the Tsawout band and Brenda is originally from Haida Gwaii. She is completing her course as a First Nations Family Support worker.
